- Through the Alan Shawn Feinstein Challenge this year we received $1,888.82, an increase over 2008.
- Donations in memory of Kay Howland have been received from more than 36 family members and friends. Dorcas Place appreciates this thoughtful way to honor her service to our students and our community.
- To date, we have received 24 contributions totaling $4,701.00 through the State Employees Charitable Campaign. Thank You!
- The Collis Foundation recently increased their support for Dorcas Place basic literacy and ESOL services through their family foundation. Thank you for your generosity!
- The Carter Family Charitable Trust has provided a new grant to Dorcas Place this year to support the RI Welcome Back Center. They are also contributing to supporting workforce education and job development opportunities through our Career Academy and Job Center. Thank you for your sustained support for our work!
- The Fish Family Foundation has contributed $5,000 to the RI Welcome Back Center. They note, "Helping immigrants who received their healthcare training outside the United States to resume their careers here benefits not only the immigrants themselves, but also their families, the healthcare industry, and the patients they serve."
- Wal-Mart Foundation is contributing to workforce training and development at Dorcas Place through a $25,000 grant award. They recently received a Recognition Book Award at the agency to permanently honor their philanthropic commitment to Dorcas Place. Thank you for your generosity and support for adult education!
